If you haven’t figured out I’m obsessed with Raspberry Creek Fabrics then you haven’t been reading my blog or following me on instagram for very long. Well, they launched a super awesome Valentine’s club line and I knew I needed it.
I don’t frequently sew for people outside our family, but this time I made an exception. My bestie, Tara, has been super busy lately. She has two wonderful girls, a husband who is a nurse with a crazy hospital schedule, a demanding job kicking ass for Cincinnati, she’s a Junior League Queen, and she just moved houses! She sews (see previous post, this is basically all her fault), but she’s been so busy I knew she wasn’t going to get around to sewing for her girls for Valentine’s day. Sadly, I was only able to sew something up for Elliot, her oldest, but baby Norah won’t remember.
I chose a FeeFee Filou because Tara is scared of German patterns and I wanted to show her how awesome they are! Aside: international patterns can be intimidating, you often have to cut your own seam allowance and they are in another language. BUT the sewing community is awesome and you can find tons of help. I’m in a great Facebook group called International Knits Sew-A-Long and have come to love a website called Deepl. I should do an entire post about how I make international patterns [writes note to self]. Ok where were we. Oh! I also wanted to use Raspberry Creek Fabrics because she hasn’t gotten into my deep love of ordering fabric online and hiding it before Mike (my husband) realizes I bought MORE fabric. It’s like a game now.
I really love how this turned out. The pattern has so many options it was difficult to choose. I followed an awesome tutorial by Natasha at Auschick! She did a multi-day, multi-style, sew-a-long that was fantastic!
I shipped this off to Tara in time for Valentine’s day for Elliot. I can’t wait to see her in it.
Sorry my mannequin doesn’t have on any pants!
I also sewed up a set for Lincoln. I went tried and true on this one: True Bias Mini Hudsons and Max and Meena Mega Max Raglan. I made it in time to show Kelli from True Bias his Mini Hudsons when we all met up at Fancy Tiger Crafts for the Denver Area Sewing Meet Up last week!
I took a personal day and Lincoln and I had a great time. We got supplies for a Range Backpack, had Sonic for lunch, made a trip to Colorado Fabrics, and met Daddy for a trip to Costco. He was a trooper and looked super cute. I can’t say enough about the quality of fabrics from Raspberry Creek. I just adore the prints, the quality of the cotton/lycra and the french terry. It is my go to! I just ordered a TON to make Lincoln’s Spring/Summer capsule wardrobe, stay tuned!
Happy Valentine’s Day from our little family to yours!
