We are blessed with a lot of great friends and we all seem to have kids around the same time. Well one of our sweet friends’ little man, Enzo, was turning one and needed a chambray shirt to go with the Canadian theme of his birthday. I know, this sounds like a random birthday theme, but his Daddy, Trevor, is Canadian and it turned into the most awesome theme. So here’s a review of the Peek-a-boo Patterns Classic Button Up.

Tips: use 1/4” wash away for the placket for a perfect edge
Pattern sizing: Made a size 12 mo for a petite 12 month old. It fit him perfectly. Would probably make it a bit longer in the future.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern when you were finished sewing?: My collar was better! ha! It sat up more and not as spread as the picture.
Were the instructions complete and easy to follow? If you’ve never done a back yoke, the fold is not explained and could be confusing. They felt rushed. I’m glad I’ve done a pattern like this before because the yoke and plackets were not explained well.
Fabric used: Chambray stretch from Simply By Ti, Buffalo plaid flannel from Joanns
Did you alter the pattern in any way? Snaps instead of buttons. Added the Canadian flag embroidery! Used thicker than suggested interfacing on the collar so it stands up nice.
Was there anything you disliked or would change? It turned out super cute, I would make it a bit longer. The cuffs were a PITA.
Would you sew it again? Meh.
Would you recommend it to others? Meh.
